I've spent a few years working on backend infra for teams whose repos look like the ones Galley targets — a Go API, a Python worker, a Node frontend, a wall of Postgres migrations. Every team had the same gap: review tools assumed the change was a frontend or a static site, and got worse the further from that you went.

Galley is the tool I wanted. Self-hosted because the teams with this problem usually can't put production-shape data into a vendor. Polyglot because "Docker works, technically" stops being useful the moment you have three runtimes and two databases.
